Air Bag: Service and Repair
Disposal of Airbag (Vehicles Returning to Service)

CAUTION: The storage, transportation and disposal of air bag units are subject to the laws for flammable solids.

Disposal of Air Bag units:

Activate air bag units (gas generators): remove an active (not deployed) air bag unit carefully from the vehicle and return to the Warranty Parts
Test Center for proper disposal. DO NOT deploy air bag in vehicle!

Deployed air bags: deployed air bags do not have to be disposed of as hazardous waste but can be discarded in the normal manner. However, it is
recommended to have the unit recycled.
