Install measuring fixture and dial indicator

Rotate input shaft to fixture tapered roller bearings

Press input shaft in direction of arrow and read axial play on dial indicator:

Minimum bearing play = 0.01 mm (0.0004 in.)

Maximum bearing play = 0.09 mm (0.0035 in.) 

NOTE:  If the bearing play cannot be measured, but there is perceptible in put shaft play and the input shaft turns freely the adjustment is
acceptable.

Frictional moment (turning torque at bearing preload): max. 20 Ncm (1.8 in lb)
