Valve Body, Removing And Installing
WARNING: Do not run engine or tow the vehicle with the oil pan removed or when there is no ATF in transmission.
Notes:

The valve body and the items illustrated can be removed when the transmission is in the vehicle.

Lubricate O-rings with ATF when installing.
^
Always replace a valve body which is fouled or malfunctioning.
^
Do not use fluffy cloths.
^
After re-installing the oil pan, fill with ATF.
1. Drain plug

Always replace
^
40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.)
^
With seal
^
Remove plug to drain ATF.
2. Bolt
^
10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.)
^
Tighten oil pan bolts in several stages and in diagonal sequence
3. Oil pan
4. Gasket
^
Always replace
5. Magnet
^
4 magnets located in depressions in oil pan
6. ATF screen
^
Removing and installing
7. Gasket
^
Use Kukko 18/0 puller to pull off ATF strainer
^
Press onto suction collar on ATF screen
8. Bolt
^
8 Nm (71 inch lbs.)
^
Removing and installing
^
Observe correct tightening sequence
Bolts securing valve body:
^
1 bolt: M x 30
