Parking Brake Lever: Adjustments
Parking brake, adjusting
Note:
-
Due to the self-adjusting rear brakes there is no requirement to adjust the parking brake. Adjustment is only necessary after replacing. parking
brake cables, brake calipers, brake pads and brake discs.

The brake system must be bled and must be functioning properly

Depress brake pedal firmly at least once.

Parking brake lever in "off" position.

Remove rear ashtray (center console).

Remove any plastic parts on compensator, they do not need to be re-installed.

Hold compensator from tuning with screwdriver (shown without center console for ease of illustration).

Remove locking element -4-.

Turn adjusting nut -1- onto stop-, slot for locking element is then covered.

Push both cable sleeves -2- and -3- together.

Turn adjusting nut -1- out until slot for locking element is visible.

Insert locking element -4-.

Pull both cable sleeves apart simultaneously until cables are tensioned, and keep brake caliper from lifting off.

Remove screwdriver at compensator and apply parking brake 3 times.
Note: Colored O-ring -7- must not be visible to ensure parking brake cable adjustment mechanism is sufficiently protected from dirt and water
spray

Check parking brake tension and adjust -A- in/out if necessary.
