Seat Belt Tensioner: Customer Safety Information

Test, installation and service operations must only be performed by properly qualified personnel

When connecting the seat belt tensioner unit, all mechanical parts including those of the three-point seat belt must be correctly attached.

Only the person performing this work must be present inside the car.

Seat belt tensioner components must not be opened or repaired; always use new pans in all cases.

Seat belt tensioner units which have fallen onto a hard surface must not be installed or reinstalled in the car.

Seat belt tensioner units which have suffered mechanical damage (dents, cracks) must always be replaced.

The seat belt tensioner unit should not be removed from its container until just before installation.

If the installation work is interrupted, return the seat belt tensioner unit to it's container.

The open end of the seat belt tensioner must never be pointed toward a person.

Always wash your hands after touching seat belt tensioners which have been activated.

Storage and the transportation of seat belt tensioners is covered by the Explosives Act.

Deployed seat belt tensioners do not have to be disposed of as hazardous waste, but can be discarded in a normal manner. It is
recommended, however, that deployed seat belt tensioners be recycled.

Do not leave a seat belt tensioner unit unattended.

Seat belt tensioner unit must not be treated with grease, cleaners of similar products.

Seat belt tensioner unit must not be exposed to temperatures in excess of 100° C (212° F), flying sparks or open flames.
