Shifter A/T: Diagrams

Shift mechanism, disassembling and assembling 

Lubricate all mounts and sliding surfaces with Polyuric grease Part No. G 052 142 A2.

1. Selector lever handle

Press sleeve -item 2- down, pull knob out onto stop and pull handle off upward.

2. Sleeve

Installation position: Angled section faces inward

3. Cover

With selector indicator

4. Light conductor

^

With wiring and light emitting diodes (LED) for selector lever illumination

Wire routing; see Fig. 1

CAUTION:  Check with your parts department for latest part number information.

To remove, release 4 retaining lugs on inner side

6. Spring

^

For pull rod

7. Pull rod

^

Insert together with spring in selector lever

8. Selector lever
9. Detent plate

^

Insert together with spring clip -item 10- in selector lever

10. Spring clip

^

Insert both ends in selector lever

11. Nut

^

10 Nm (7ft. lbs.) 

12. Mounting bracket

Pry out with screwdriver
