Axle Beam: Service and Repair
Service Notes
Rear axle, assembly
CAUTION:

Do not attempt to straighten or weld rear axle beam or stub axles.

Always replace self-locking nuts.
Wheel bolt tightening torque: 120 Nm (89 ft. lbs.)
1. Spring support

4. Coil spring

Removing: first remove upper bolt from shock absorber. See: Suspension Strut / Shock Absorber

Examine for paint damage and correct if necessary

Different versions.
After installing, ends of spring must lie in area marked, as illustrated:
Arrow A points forward
Arrow B points right

6. Mounting bracket

Check and, if necessary, adjust rear axle total toe after installation

The mounting bracket contact surface is to be clean and free of wax, paint and dirt
7. Nut

Always replace each time after removing
8. Bolt

110 Nm (81 ft. lbs.) and turn 90° further
