Factory supplied radios use two distinct types of mountings and face plates, requiring two different removal tools. Refer to Fig. 17 and Fig. 18 to
determine, by the type of face plate, which tool will be required.
1. Obtain audio coded anti-theft code.
2. Determine removal tool required as outlined above.
3. Insert tools as shown in Fig. 17 or Fig. 18 and until they are felt to be seated.
4. On models using tool No. VW160, after tool is inserted, press outward on tools while pulling radio out.
5. On models using tool No. 3316, after tool is inserted, pull straight out with no up/down, twist or side movements.
6. Disconnect wiring connectors and antenna lead.
7. Release tool from radio by pressing in on radio mounting tabs while pulling on tool.
8. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. While installing radio, ensure wiring will not be pinched and rear mounting post will be engaged.
b. Reset audio coded anti-theft system
