Accelerator Pedal: Description and Operation
PURPOSE
The Accelerator Pedal is a manually operated lever attached to the throttle cable. It allows the driver to control throttle position.
LOCATION
Right side of the drivers floorboard.
OPERATION
Operating the Accelerator Pedal pulls on the throttle cable which in turn opens the throttle valve allowing air to enter the engine. The more air that
flows past the Throttle Body and into the engine, the greater the power output from the engine. This is how the relationship between Accelerator
Pedal operation and engine power output is achieved.
