Incorrect installation of the shift lever rubber cover can create problems during shifting.

press rubber A over shoulder of shift lever guide B (see illustration).
^
upper part of cover A must lie beneath the shoulder (arrow) of shift lever guide B.
Note
Always pry oft the rubber cover and shift lever trim separately.
