Removing
–  Remove handbrake lever trim → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.68.
–  Release handbrake.
   
–  Unscrew adjustment nut -arrow- so that the handbrake cable can be unhooked from the compensator.
–  Raise vehicle.
–  Remove wheel.
–  Remove brake drum.
–  Unhook handbrake cable.

–  Unclip handbrake cable from retainer on rear axle -arrow A- and unhook from retainer -arrow-.
  N46-0235
–  Unhook handbrake cable from retainer -arrow-.
–  Pull handbrake cable out from guide tube -1- in direction of arrow.
Installing
  N46-0236
–  Slide handbrake cable into guide tube -1- in direction of arrow.
–  Hook handbrake cable into retainer -arrow-.
–  Connect handbrake cable to brake lever.
–  Install brake drum.
  N46-0237
–  Clip handbrake cable into retainer on rear axle -arrow A-.
–  Handbrake cable clamping ring must lie in the middle of the clip.
–  Hook handbrake cable into retainer -arrow-.
–  Slide handbrake cable into compensator.

–  Pretension handbrake cable with adjustment nut -arrows-.
–  Adjust handbrake → Chapter.
–  Install handbrake lever trim → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.68.
