Adjusting handbrake
Adjusting handbrake
A new adjustment is only necessary after renewing, handbrake cables, brake calipers and brake discs.
–  Remove handbrake lever trim → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.68.
   
–  Handbrake lever in released position. Tighten adjusting nuts -1- until lever on brake caliper lifts off stop.
–  Lock adjusting nut with hexagon lock nut.

–  A gap of max. 1.5 mm from stop -arrow- is permissible each side, gap should be the same on both sides.
1 - Feeler gauge
–  Pull handbrake on three times and then release again.
–  Check that both wheels turn freely.
Due to the automatic rear wheel brake adjustment there is no requirement to adjust the handbrake after making new/initial adjustment.
