Adjusting handbrake
Adjusting handbrake
A new adjustment is only necessary when the handbrake cable, brake carrier or brake pads/linings are renewed.
–  Release handbrake.
–  Remove handbrake lever trim → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.68.
–  Firmly depress brake pedal once.
–  Pull handbrake lever on four notches.
   
–  Tighten adjusting nuts -arrows- until both wheels are difficult to turn by hand.
–  Release handbrake and check that both wheels turn freely. If required turn adjusting nuts back slightly.
Due to the automatic rear wheel brake adjustment there is no requirement to adjust the handbrake after making new/initial adjustment.
