  Note
Parts marked “*” can be repaired only in workshops with suitable equipment and specially trained mechanics because the refrigerant must be evacuated beforehand using, for example, the air conditioning service station -VAS 6007A-.
   
1 - Evacuating and charging valve*
q   Low pressure side.
2 - Evacuating and charging valve*
q   High pressure side.
3 - Vacuum reservoir
q   Behind right wheel housing lining.
q   Insertion depth for vacuum hose: 30 mm.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
4 - Dust and pollen filter
q   Below plenum chamber cover → Item.
q   Removing → Chapter.
5 - Plenum chamber cover
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
6 - Ambient temperature switch -F38-
q   Below plenum chamber cover → Item.
q   Only for internally regulated air conditioner compressor.
7 - Expansion valve*
q   Aperture must be sealed against splashed water.
8 - Vacuum hose
q   In plenum chamber.
q   Vacuum hose connection diagram → Chapter.
9 - Non-return valve
Arrow points in direction of suction.
10 -  Two-way valve for fresh and recirculating air flap -N63-
q   Open when current is supplied.
q   Vacuum hose connection diagram → Chapter.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
11 - Aperture for heat exchanger and vacuum hose
12 - Water drain valve
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
q   Lip valve must not become glued with underbody protection.
13 - Radiator fan control unit -J293-
14 - Air conditioning system shut-off thermal switch -F163-
q   Air conditioning system shut-off thermal switch -F163- switches off air conditioning system magnetic coupling -N25- when the coolant temperature is too high (off at 119°, on at 112°).
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
15 - Condenser*
16 - High-pressure safety valve*
q   Checking → Chapter.
17 - Air conditioner compressor*
q   Manufacturer: Sanden, designation: SD7-B10
18 - Air conditioning system magnetic coupling -N25-
19 - Air conditioning system pressure switch -F129-
q   Checking air conditioning system pressure switch -F129- → Chapter.
q   Removing and installing:
q   Tightening torque 8 Nm.
q   Renew O-ring (note part number).
20 - Receiver with dryer bag*
q   Functions → Chapter.
