Removing and installing balancer shaft > < Balancer shaft and retaining frame

1 - Chain
q   Note installation position → Chapter.
2 - 100 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°) further
q   Renew
q   Turning further can be done in several stages.
q   Use counter-hold tool -T10061- to loosen and tighten
3 - Balance weight
q   Can only be installed in one position
4 - Sprocket
q   For balancer shaft.
q   Can only be installed in one position
5 - Dowel sleeve
6 - 20 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°) further
q   Renew
7 - Sprocket
q   For oil pump.
q   Can only be installed in one position
8 - Cover
q   With sealing strip
q   Clean strainer if dirty
9 - 5 Nm
10 - O-ring
q   Renew
q   Check for secure seating.
q   Lightly oil before installing
11 - 20 Nm
12 - Oil pump
q   With 11.5 bar pressure relief valve.
q   Before installing, ensure that both dowel sleeves for centring are installed.
13 - Balancer shaft
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
14 - Retaining frame
q   Before installing, check that the dowel sleeves for centring oil pump on cylinder block are fitted and the O-ring is fitted in the retaining frame
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
15 - O-ring
q   Renew
q   Ensure securely seated in retaining frame
16 - Cylinder block
17 - Idler chain sprocket
18 - 20 Nm
19 - Chain tensioner with tensioning plate
q   To remove, lock with locking pin -T10060 A-
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
20 - 8 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°) further
q   Renew
