  • ◆ T10007 Refractometer
  • ◆ V.A.G 1306 Drip tray
  • ◆ V.A.G 1331 Torque wrench (5...50 Nm)
  • ◆ VAS 5024 Assembly tool for spring-type clamps

Notes:

  • ◆ The integrated coolant pump seal must not be separated from the coolant pump.
  • ◆ Damaged or leaking coolant pumps must be replaced complete with seal.
  • ◆ Cover toothed belt with a cloth to protect it from coolant before removing coolant pump.

Removing

  • ‒ Drain coolant .
  • ‒ First remove main drive toothed belt
    => Page 15-19 .

  • ‒ → Remove idler roller -6- by removing idler roller bolt -5-.
  • ‒ Remove bolts -1- and -4- and remove rear toothed belt guard -2- and coolant pump -3-.

Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse order, when doing this note the following:

  • ‒ Insert coolant pump -3- in cylinder block and install securing bolt -4- together with rear toothed belt guard.

  • ‒ → Tighten securing bolts -4- to 20 Nm and -1- to 10 Nm.
  • ‒ Install idler roller -6- and tighten securing bolt -5- to 50 Nm.
  • ‒ Install toothed belt and tension => Page 15-19 .
  • ‒ Install ribbed belt => Page 13-12 .
  • ‒ Filling with coolant => Page 19-11
