1 - Bearing shells 1, 2, 4 and 5
q   Do not interchange used bearing shells (mark positions)
2 - 65 Nm
3 - Bearing cap
q   Bearing cap 1: Pulley end
q   Bearing cap 3 with recesses for thrust washers
q   Bearing shell retaining lugs in cylinder block and bearing caps must align.
4 - Bearing shell 3
5 - Thrust washer
q   For bearing cap 3
q   Note fixing arrangement
6 - Crankshaft
q   Axial clearance new: 0.07…0.24 mm, wear limit 0.26 mm
q   Check radial clearance with Plastigage, new: 0.02 ... 0.07 mm; wear limit: 0.13 mm
q   Do not rotate crankshaft when checking radial clearance
q   Crankshaft dimensions → Chapter
7 - 10 Nm
q   8 Nm for vehicles with a Duocentric oil pump
8 - 60 Nm + 1/4 turn (90 °) further
q   Renew
9 - Flywheel
q   Lock with counterhold -10 - 201- to remove or install.
10 - Sealing flange with oil seal
q   Only renew complete
q   Do not additionally oil sealing lip of spare part sealing flange
q   The spare part sealing flange does not have a sprayed-on gasket and must be installed along with an additional gasket.
q   Fit spare part sealing flange with supplied sleeve
11 - Thrust washer
q   For cylinder block, bearing 3
12 - Sealing flange/Duocentric oil pump
q   Removing and installing Duocentric oil pump → Chapter
13 - Seal
q   Renewing → Chapter
14 - Sealing bush
q   Only with chain driven oil pump
q   Renew if damaged
q   First insert in sealing flange
q   Oil when installing
15 - Seal
q   Renew
16 - Sprocket
q   For oil pump drive
17 - Oil pump
q   Removing and installing → Item
q   Removing and installing on vehicles with Duocentric oil pump → Chapter.
