Repairing diesel direct injection system |
The diesel fuel is sucked out of the tank by the distributor-type injection pump, compressed and injected directly onto the piston crown in the combustion chamber via injectors. |
The quantity injected is electronically regulated by the diesel direct injection system control unit -J248-. Electronic regulation enables the quantity injected and the injection characteristics, commencement of injection and exhaust gas recirculation to be regulated flexibly according to requirements. |
The diesel direct injection system control unit -J248- is equipped with a fault memory. Before starting repairs, adjustments and fault finding, the fault memory must be interrogated and final control diagnosis completed → Chapter. |
Note When performing test and adjustment work the control unit can recognize and store faults. For this reason after completing all test and adjustment work always clear fault memory → Chapter. |
