Test sequence

  • ‒ → Pull connector -1- off engine temperature sender -2-.

Note:

Pulling the connector off sender, simulates engine condition "cold" and when switching the ignition on the relevant glow period is carried out.

  • ‒ Place glow plug feed wires in multimeter current clamp.
  • ‒ Switch on ignition to start pre-glow.
  • ‒ Start the engine and run at idling speed.
  • ‒ Read current consumption during extended glow period (approx. 180 sec.) with engine running.
    The current consumption of the glow plugs during the extended glow period is approx. 8 Amp. per glow plug. With a glow plug current consumption of:

Note:

Erase fault memory after completing checks
