Note:

Welding and straightening work is not permitted on the axle beam and stub axle.

  • Wheel bolt, 110 Nm
  • Dust cap
    • ◆ Renew each time after removing
    • A perfect seal is only achieved using a new dust cap.
    • Only then is an optimum function and long service life guaranteed.
  • Self-locking 12-point nut, 175 Nm
    • ◆ Renew each time after removing

  • Cross-head screw
  • Brake drum
  • Bolt with washer, 60 Nm
  • Handbrake cable
  • Bonded rubber mounting
    • ◆ Removing and installing=>Page 42-19
  • Self-locking hexagon nut; 25 Nm and turn 90°further
    • ◆ When tightening the nut the axle beam must be in the horizontal position (unladen vehicle state)
    • ◆ Renew each time after removing

    • ◆ Stub axle contact surfaces and threaded holes are to be free of paint and dirt
  • Bolt

  • Self-locking hexagon nut; 40 Nm and turn 90°further
    • ◆ When tightening observe the installation angle from rear axle to damper =>Fig. 1
    • ◆ Renew each time after removing
  • Brake pipe
  • Hexagon socket head bolt, 8 Nm
  • Speed sensor
    • ◆ Only on vehicles with ABS

    • ◆ Straightening operations are not permitted!
    • ◆ Recutting the thread is not permitted!
  • Back plate with brake shoes
    • ◆ Servicing

  • Wheel hub with wheel bearings

The wheel bearing and wheel hub are installed together in a housing.

This wheel bearing/hub unit is maintenance and adjustment free. Adjusting and servicing is not possible!
