Renewing main beam bulb
Renewing main beam bulb
Removing:
–  Disconnect battery → Chapter.
–  Remove headlight → Chapter.
–  Remove gas discharge bulb control unit → Chapter.
   
–  Unscrew bolt -1- and remove cover cap -2-.

–  Pull connector -1- off bulb.
–  Unclip retaining clip -2- over retaining lug -3- and release.
–  Pull bulb -4- out of reflector.
Installing:
  Note
Do not touch glass envelope when fitting a new bulb. Fingers leave traces of grease on the glass envelope, which evaporate when the bulb is switched on and cause the glass envelope to cloud over.
–  Insert new bulb so that the lugs on the disc plate align with the recesses in the reflector.

–  Unclip retaining clip -2- under retaining lug -3- and lock.
–  Reconnect connector -1-.
–  Fit sealing cap.
–  Install gas discharge bulb control unit → Chapter.
–  Install headlight → Chapter.
–  Check function of headlight.
–  Check headlight settings and adjust if necessary → Booklet.
