Checking V-belt
–  Check for:
t  Sub-surface cracks (cracks, core ruptures, cross sectional breaks)
t  Layer separation (top layer, cord strands)
t  Base break-up
t  Fraying of cord strands
t  Flank wear (material wear, frayed flanks, flank brittleness -glassy flanks-, surface cracks)
t  Traces of oil and grease
  Note
t  Mark direction of rotation before removing the V-belt. Ensure rotation of direction is correct when installing. Installing V-belt opposite to the direction of rotation will destroy the belt!
t  If damage is established, replace V-belt immediately to prevent failure or functional faults!
