Coding control unit

Using this function the dash panel insert can be coded as follows:

t	Optional equipment

t	National codes

t	Number of cylinders

t	Code for distance impulse number

Note

t	The following sequence is described for the fault reader -V.A.G 1551-, the sequence described in the chapter for the “vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system may also be used” → Chapter.

t	The coding sets the various combination possibilities according to country variants, number of cylinders and engine type.

t	The coding table shows only the various combination possibilities that apply to the VW Polo.

–	Initiate self-diagnosis of dash panel insert → Chapter.

Indicated on display:

–	Press keys 0 and 7. (07 selects the function “Code control unit”).

–	Confirm entry with Q key.
