Initiating self-diagnosis of dash panel insert

Note

The following sequence is described for the fault reader -V.A.G 1551-, the sequence described in the chapter for the “vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system may also be used” → Chapter.

–	Connecting fault reader → Anchor.

–	Switch on ignition.

Indicated on display:

V.A.G - SELF-DIAGNOSIS              HELP

  1 - Rapid data transfer*

*) Appears alternately

–	Press key 1 for “Rapid data transfer” mode.

V.A.G - SELF-DIAGNOSIS              HELP

  2 - Flash code output*

Indicated on display:

–	Press keys 1 and 7. (“17” is used to enter the address word “Dash panel insert”).

Enter address word  XX

Indicated on display:

–	Confirm entry with Q key.

Indicated on display:

–	Confirm entry with Q key.

Rapid data transfer                    Q

Tester sends address word 17

Indicated on display:

–	Press → key.

If the following display appears:

–	Press the HELP key to print out a list of possible fault causes.

–	After rectifying faults enter address word 17 for dash panel insert again and confirm with Q.
