Paint repair on plastic parts |
WARNING The repainting procedure covers plastic without any preparation
up to the application of varnish. Observe the steps to be performed
in function of the affected layer. |
Normally, primer is already applied to the plastic parts offered
by P & A. |

| Sand the surface with P 400 and P 600 sandpaper. |

| Apply degreasing solution (silicone remover). |
Correction of imperfections: |

| Correct imperfections with polyester paste for plastics,
by following the manufacturer's specifications (Polyester paste
for plastics + catalyst). |
–
| Dry the polyester paste for plastics (air or short waves). |
–
| Sand with P 80 sandpaper |
Note With a sanding club or with a sanding machine or then with
a vacuum plan. |

| Control the sanding process (spray or dust) |
–
| Sand with P 150 and P 320 sandpaper |
Note With a sanding club or with a sanding machine or then with
a vacuum plan. |

| Apply degreasing solution. |
Anticorrosive protection: |
Note With an HVLP spray gun, with an opening and line pressure specified
by the manufacturer, 1 or 2 coats. |

| Dry the plastic sealant in air (time specified by manufacturer). |
–
| Apply HS primer by respecting manufacturer's specification
(HS primer + catalyst + diluent). |
Note With an HVLP spray gun, with an opening and line pressure specified
by the manufacturer, 2 coats. |

| Dry the PU primer in air or short waves (time specified
by the manufacturer). |
–
| Sand with P 400 and P 500 sandpaper |
Note With a sanding club or with a sanding machine or then with
a vacuum plan. |

| Apply degreasing solution. |
Application of base (solvent or water solvent): |
–
| Apply the base by respecting manufacturer's specification
(base + diluent). |
Note With an HVLP spray gun, with an opening and line pressure specified
by the manufacturer, 2 + 1/2 coats. |

| Dry the base in air or in the oven (time specified by manufacturer),
until matting. |
–
| Apply the varnish by respecting manufacturer's specification
(varnish + catalyst + diluent). |
Note With an HVLP spray gun, with an opening and line pressure specified
by the manufacturer, 2 coats. |

| Dry the varnish in air or short waves (time specified by
the manufacturer). |
