ABS MK 60
ABS MK 60
The ABS MK 60 system is available in the following versions:
t  ABS
t  ABS/EDS/ASR
The ABS brake system is arranged diagonally. The braking power amplification is carried out pneumatically through the vacuum servo brake.
Vehicles with ABS MK 60 do not have a mechanical braking power regulator. A special software installed in the command unit controls the distribution of braking power to the rear axle.
Faults in the ABS do not affect the brake system and servo brake and the normal brake system also operates without ABS. A difference in the braking behaviour is to be expected. After the control lamp for ABS and the control lamp for the brake system light up, the rear wheels may lock in advance during braking.

ABS location:
1 - Hydraulic unit and command unit (47 poles).
2 - Servo brake
  N45-0277
The command unit -1- (47 poles) and the hydraulic unit -2- form one single unit. Separation is only possible with components duly disassembled. It is forbidden to separate the hydraulic pump -3- from the hydraulic system unit. In the two connector terminals there are two large contacts with 4.8 mm of width for each one.
Remove and install the command unit and the hydraulic unit → Chapter.
