  Note
t  Only G 12 must be used as cooling fluid additive - as per TL -VW 774 F-. Identification characteristic: purple color
t  Purple 12 (as per TL -VW 774 F-) may be mixed with red G 12 used so far!
t  G 12 and cooling fluid additives which specify ”as per TL -VW 774- F” deter corrosion and calcium deposits, and rise boiling temperature. For these reasons the cooling system must be supplied all year long with anti-freezing and radiator anti-corrosion additives.
t  Mainly in tropical countries, the additive contributes to the operational safety of highly demanded engines due to rise in boiling temperature.
t  The anti-freezing effect must be ensured until around -25°C (in polar climate countries until around -35°C).
t  Cooling fluid concentration must not be reduced by adding water, not even in tropical country hot seasons. Percentage of additive must be 40 % minimum.
t  If the climate demands a more efficient anti-freezing effect, amount of G 12 may be increased, but only to 60 % (anti-freezing effect of around -40 °C), otherwise the anti-freezing effect is reduced and cooling is reduced.
t  In case of radiator, heat exchanger, head or head joint replacement, cooling fluid must not be reused.

1)  Amount of cooling fluid may vary depending on vehicle accessories.
–  Screw cooling fluid draining plug.
–  Connect cooling fluid hoses to oil radiator.
–  Install central, left and right noise mufflers: → Body - External assembly jobs; Rep. Gr.50
With cooling fluid supplying equipment -VAS 6096-:
–  Screw adapter Cooling system tester -V.A.G 1274/- to the compensation container adequate to the vehicle
–  Supply cooling circuit with cooling fluid supplying equipment -VAS 6096-: → Operation instructions for cooling fluid supplying equipment VAS 6096
Without cooling fluid supplying equipment -VAS 6096-:

–  Complete cooling fluid until the maximum marking on compensation container.
–  Close compensation container.
–  Turn off heating operation.
–  Start engine and keep rotation at 2000 rpm for about 3 minutes
–  Keep engine running until fan turns on.
–  Check anti-freezer level, and complete if necessary. With hot engine level must be at maximum marking, and on cool engine, between maximum and minimum markings.
