Valve command unit - repair > < Checking conditions
Checking sequence
Checking sequence
–  Disconnect central connector for injector pump units.
–  Remove all glower plugs with articulated wrench 3220.
   
–  Screw Adapter -V.A.G 1381/2- in the place of glower plugs.
–  Check compression with Compression tester -V.A.G 1763/-.
  Note
Checking equipment handling ⇒ Operation instructions.
–  Turn on starting engine until checking equipment no longer indicates rising pressure.
Compression values:
new: 25...31 bar wear limit: 19 bar
Cylinders permissible difference: 5 bar
–  Place glower plugs with articulated wrench 3220 15 Nm torque.
–  Perform test drive and check fault memory → Chapter; check and erase engine command unit fault memory.
  Note
As a result of disconnection of the injector pump units connector, faults are stored in memory. That is why it is necessary to check and, if necessary, erase the fault memory.
