  Note
t  Before removing indented belt from valve command shaft gear, block tension device of indented belt → Chapter; Indented belt - remove and install, adjust.
t  Both suspension brackets for the strutting device are on the head, and that is why an additional support must be affixed to the block, to support the engine.
   
–  Screw as shown, support -T10014- into threaded block holes, in the water pump area. 20 Nm torque.
–  With spindle-A- lift engine a little, until spindle-B- is relieved.
–  Remove spindle -B-.
–  Before removing head, remove fuel with Hand-operated vacuum pump -V.A.G 1390/- with Drainage container -V.A.G 1390/1- on tandem pump → Chapter, Tandem pump - remove and install.
–  Remove valve command shaft gear cube. → Chapter, Valve command shaft - remove and install

–  When releasing head, follow screw sequence.
