t  VW 5162 or Standart type clamp pliers -VAS 5024A-
  WARNING
In all works, especially in the engine compartment, pay attention to the following:
t  All pipes/hoses of any kind (such as fuel, hydraulic system, activated charcoal filter syste, cooling and refrigerant gas system, brake fluid, vacuum) and all electric harnesses must be installed so as to faithfully restore their original positions.
t  Ensure there is sufficient free space in relation to all moving or hot parts.
  Note
t  With hot engine, the cooling system is under pressure. Before making repairs, relieve the pressure.
t  Hose connections are made with spring clamps. When doing repairs, use spring clamps only.
t  The use of Standart-type clamp pliers -VAS 5024A- or Clamp pliers -VAG 1921- is recommended to install the spring clamp.
t  Cooling system hoses must be installed without any tension, without interfering with any other parts (observe markings on the connection and on the hose).
Check the cooling system tightness with theEngine cooling system tester -VAG 1274- or Engine cooling system tester -VAG 1274B- and the Adapter for VAG 1274 -VAG 1274/8- and the Adapter for VAG 1274 -VAG 1274/9-.
