  WARNING
Before working on the heater and air conditioning system, it is necessary to disconnect the battery earth wire Battery -A- → Electrical equipment; Rep. gr.27.
  Note
t  Check whether the vehicle has a coded radio. If so, request the anti-theft code before disconnecting the Battery -A- earth wire.
t  Upon reconnecting the Battery -A-, check the vehicle equipment (radio, clock, power locks and windows, etc.) according to the Workshop Manual and/or instructions for use.
   
1 - Upper air duct
q   Installed on the cross support of instrument panel.
q   Remove and install → Chapter.
2 - Air duct for baffles
q   Installed on the instrument panel.
3 - Air conditioning command and indicator unit / Climatronic -E87- with the Climatronic control unit -J255-
q   The Air conditioning command and indicator unit / Climatronic -E87- with Climatronic control unit -J255- and the Panel temperature sensor -G56- with Fan for temperature sensor -V42- comprise a single component.
q   Functions → Chapter.
q   Remove and install → Chapter.
q   Check → Chapter.
4 - Side air baffle
q   Remove and install → Chapter.
5 - Central air baffle
q   Remove and install → Chapter.
6 - Transverse support on instrument panel
q   Remove and install → Body - Internal assembly works; Rep. gr.70.
7 - Fresh air aspiration duct temperature sensor -G89-
q   Function: to control the temperature command small door and cold air fan in function of the temperature.
q   In case of failure, its function is assumed by the External temperature sensor -G17-.
q   Remove and install → Chapter.
q   Check → Chapter.
8 - Plenum chamber (Climatronic heating and air conditioning system)
q   Remove and install → Chapter.
9 - Front right feet air duct
q   Remove and install → Chapter.
10 - Coupling for the rear air duct
11 - Rear air duct
q   Remove and install → Chapter.
12 - Rear right feet air duct
q   Remove and install → Chapter.
13 - Rear left feet air duct
q   Remove and install → Chapter.
14 - Air outlet temperature sensor for the feet region -G192-
q   Function: controls the air distribution in the feet region and the fan power in function of the temperature.
q   Remove and install → Chapter.
q   Check → Chapter.
15 - Front left feet air duct
q   Remove and install → Chapter.
16 - Air outlet temperature sensor for the central baffle -G191-
q   Function: controls the air distribution in the centre baffle outlet and the fan power in function of the temperature.
q   Remove and install → Chapter.
q   Check → Chapter.
17 - Air outlet temperature sensor for the evaporator -G263-
q   Remove and install → Chapter.
q   Check → Chapter.
18 - Heat exchanger/engine compartment partition panel sealing
q   Replace if damaged
q   Observe the installation position → Chapter.
19 - Expansion valve / partition panel seal inside the engine compartment
q   Replace if damaged
q   Observe the installation position → Chapter.
20 - dash panel
q   Remove and install → Body - Internal assembly works; Rep. gr.70.
21 - Sun irradiation photosensor -G107-
q   Function: controls the temperature small door and cold air fan in function of the sun radiation.
q   In case of failure, the Climatronic control unt -J255- assumes a fixed value.
q   Remove and install → Chapter.
q   Check → Chapter.
