Adjusting handbrake
Adjusting handbrake
A new adjustment is only necessary when the handbrake cables, brake backplate or brake linings are renewed.
–  Remove centre console extension, → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.68.
–  The foot brake must be functional and bled.
–  Release handbrake.
–  Firmly depress brake pedal three times.
–  Pull handbrake lever on 4 notches.
   
–  Tighten adjusting nut -A- until both wheels are difficult to turn by hand.
Adjustment nut -A- must be screwed over end of pull rod -1-.
–  Release handbrake and check that both wheels turn freely. If required turn adjustment nuts back slightly.
–  Install centre console extension. → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.68.
Due to the automatic rear wheel brake adjustment there is no requirement to adjust the handbrake after making new/initial adjustment.
