Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1332-
Removing
–  Lift vehicle far enough to take weight off front axle.
–  Remove front wheel.

–  Remove nuts -arrows-.
–  Pull suspension link out of swivel joint and turn wheel bearing housing to outside to relieve suspension link.
  N40-10350
–  Unscrew bolts -arrows-.
  N40-10346
–  Swivel suspension link backwards and pull out of subframe in -direction of arrow-.
Installing
  N40-10377
–  Insert rear suspension link into subframe in -direction of arrow- and swivel forwards.
  N40-10393
–  Fit and tighten bolts -arrows-.
  N40-10394
–  Insert swivel joint into suspension link and tighten nuts -arrows-.
Use new nuts!
Continue installation in reverse order.
–  Install wheel and tighten bolts or nuts → Chapter.

Specified torques

Suspension link to subframe
t  Use new bolts.
t  Tighten bolts in unladen state.
70 Nm + 90°
Swivel joint to suspension link
t  Use new bolts.
100 Nm
