Removing and installing coil spring

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Suspension strut clamp -V.A.G 1752-

Removing

–	Fit spring compressor-1-.

1 -	Spring compressor -V.A.G 1752/1-

2 -	Spring retainer -V.A.G 1752/3A-

–	Compress coil spring until it can be removed.

–	Remove spring.

Installing

–	Ensure bottom spring plate is not damaged.

–	Renew if necessary.

–	Install spring together with spring seat.

–	End of spring must contact stop of the upper spring plate -arrow-.

–	Slacken off spring and remove spring compressor (take care not to damage surface coating of spring).
