General notes
For radios without diversity function, the aerial system consists of a roof aerial.
For radio and radio navigation systems with diversity function, the aerial system consists of a window aerial and a roof aerial.
Roof aerials are designed for the optional reception of „DAB“, digital radio reception.
The aerial system with diversity function optimises and improves reception in the vehicle.
Diversity functions are directly executed in the radio unit or radio navigation system. No additional aerial selection control unit is installed in the vehicle.

t  When faced with complaints, it is absolutely necessary to understand the functions and operation of the radio systems.

t  When the battery is reconnected, check operation of electrical equipment (radio, clock, convenience electronics and so on) according to the workshop manual or the operating manual.
In the event of repair work or fault finding, use → vehicle diagnosis, testing and information systemVAS 5051 or vehicle diagnosis and service information systemVAS 5052 in „Guided fault finding“ mode → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
