Drivers or passengers in the front seat can possibly benefit from a kit designed to raise or lower the seat belt mounting point on the B-pillar. Persons of
small stature may find the shoulder belt can be moved away from contact with the neck by lowering the mounting point 50 mm.

Larger than normal persons may need the belt moved from the arm to the shoulder by raising the mounting point 50 mm..

The kit should be installed to accommodate the person who occupies a particular seat most often.

Adapter kits are available for relocating the belt mounting on most Volkswagens with 3-point restraint systems.

A threaded plate
B shouldered bolt*
C bolt
D cap

shank partially reduced to 9.5 mm diameter

Work sequence

-

remove seat belt mounting on B-pillar

-

mount threaded plate A in desired position with bolt C

-

mark B-pillar through upper and lower holes in threaded plate

-

loosen threaded plate and turn 90~

-

drill 10 mm (3/8 in) holes in B-pillar at marked locations

-

deburr edge of holes and paint exposed bare metal surfaces

-

realign threaded plate and tighten bolt to 40 N-m (29 ft.lbs.)

-

install screw E with D6 locking compound and tighten until face of screw is flush with face of threaded plate
