Using a suitable screwdriver, press rear catch retaining tab -arrow A- back toward steering wheel to loosen catch.

Carefully pull Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527 downward from steering column switches.

NOTE:  When removing, ensure Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527 is removed straight downward without tilting.

Disengage -arrow A- harness connector -1- and disconnect it from Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527.

Remove securing latch -3- from harness connector -2-.

Disengage lock -arrow B- on electrical connection -2- and disconnect from Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527.

Installing: 
Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

NOTE:  Ensure that no pins are bent and that the connector engages audibly when connecting the harness connectors.

Airbag Spiral Spring/Return Spring With Slip Ring F138, removing and installing 

Removing: 

NOTE:  When removing, the spiral spring must not be twisted out of the center position and wheels must be in the "straight ahead position".

Lift straps -arrows- slightly at spiral spring -1- and remove spiral spring toward rear from steering column and steering column switches.

Installing: 
Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

NOTE:  When installing spiral spring, spiral spring must be in center position and wheels must be in the "straight ahead position".
