Slide boot - 2 - on to tie rod - 1 - as depicted in the illustration.

Secure spring clamp on boot using hose clamp pliers VAG 1275.

Slide boot on to steering gear housing.

-

Tighten new clamp using locking pliers VAS 6199 to the extent depicted in the illustration.

Further installation is in reverse order of removal.

Tightening torque for wheel mounting.

After installation the vehicle must be measured.

Perform vehicle alignment.

Perform adaptation for Steering Angle Sensor G85 via Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051B, "Guided Fault Finding".

-

Then perform steering system adaptation via Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 B "Guided Fault Finding".
