Remove bolts for flange shaft, by screwing two bolts into the flange and counter-holding flange shaft using a pry bar.

-

Pull out flange shaft with spring.

-

Pull out seal and sleeve together.

A ridge is located on the internal diameter of the sleeve

-

Position the puller hooks VW 771/37 directly behind the ridge in the sleeve.

-

While pulling out, press the puller hooks VW 771/37 forcefully into the sleeve.

Installing

-

Clean oil seal seat in transmission

-

Pull in seal and sleeve together.

A - Screw spindle from seal installer set 3066 into the threaded piece of the differential.

B - Nut M12

-

Pull the seal with sleeve in up to the stop via the thrust pad T10148 by turning the nut -B-.

-

Fill area between sealing lip and dust lip halfway with sealing grease G 052 128 A1.

-

Insert flange shaft.
