Removing

Open hood.

Depending on model:

-

Radiator grille, removing

-

GTI radiator grille, removing

-

Radiator grille, R32, removing

All models

-

Disconnecting release

-

Disconnect harness connector - 5 - for Front Hood Switch F 266 .

Harness connector is secured over right headlamp.

-

Remove bolts - 4 - (three pieces) on lock carrier - 3 - and remove lid lock - 1 - upward.

-

To unclip release - 2 - , press together tabs on release - arrows -.

-

The locking mechanism is released and release - 2 - can be removed from lid lock - 1 -.
