Drip tray V.A.G 1306 or drip tray for workshop crane VAS 6208

Spring-type clip pliers VAS 5024 A

Removing
CAUTION!
Hot steam may escape when opening expansion tank. Wear protective goggles and protective clothing to prevent damage to eyes and
scalding. Cover the cap with a rag and open very carefully.

Drain coolant.

Bring lock carrier into service position. See: Body and Frame/Radiator Support/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement

Disconnect coolant connections on radiator at top and bottom (quick acting couplings).

Remove intake air elbow with coolant fans.

Remove bumper cover guide piece on left and right.

Remove intake air connection on lock carrier - arrows -.
Note:

To prevent damage to condenser and also to the refrigerant lines/hoses, ensure that the pipes and hoses are not stretched, kinked or bent.

Remove bolts - 1 - from radiator bearings.

Swing radiator slightly toward rear.

Remove condenser mounting bolts - 2 -.
