Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

Connect vehicle battery.

Removing

NOTE:  Removal and installation is described for the left-hand side of the vehicle. Removal and installation for the right-hand side is performed in the
same manner.

CAUTION:  Observe safety precautions for belt tensioners.

Disconnect vehicle battery

-

Remove upper B-pillar trim

-

Remove lower B-pillar trim

-

Remove screw (40 Nm) and remove belt anchor from body.

CAUTION:  Screw is micro-encapsulated. For this reason, it must always be warmed with hot air gun before loosening. While doing this,
protect the neighboring seatbelt against excessive heat with a moist towel.

NOTE:
-

The bolt is micro-encapsulated and must be replaced every time it is loosened.

Before installing the new screw, threads on nut must be cleaned, re-cut if necessary.

Remove screw (40 Nm) and remove belt retractor from B-pillar.

CAUTION:  Electrostatic charges may result in involuntary deployment of the belt tensioner. Therefore the technician must discharge
static electricity from the body before separating the ignition and ground wiring. This is done e.g. by briefly touching the body or the
door striker or pin.
