Remove wheel bearing housing/suspension strut bolt connection -arrow-.

-

Insert spreader 3424 into wheel bearing housing slot.

-

Turn ratchet around 90° and remove from spreader 3424.

Loosen nuts -arrows-.

-

Place engine/transmission jack V.A.G 1383 A beneath wheel bearing housing.

First, press off ball joint from control arm, then pull off wheel bearing housing from suspension strut.

Installing

Installation is reverse of removal, with special attention to the following:

Tighten drive axle bolt to wheel hub.

Note: When doing this, vehicle must not stand on wheels, otherwise wheel bearing may be damaged.

If wheel bearing housing was replaced, vehicle alignment must be performed.

Install wheel and tighten.
