General Information

Front Interior and Reading Lights

The following components are integrated in the front interior and reading lights:

‹› Front Interior Lamp (W1)

‹› Front Passenger Reading Lamp (W13)

‹› Driver Reading Lamp (W19)

‹› Depending on the vehicle equipment level, the Sunroof Switch (E8)

‹› Depending on the vehicle equipment lever and the model year Interior Monitoring Sensor (G273) with the Vehicle Inclination Sensor (G384)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Trim removal wedge (VAS 3409)

‹› When removing and installing components in a visible area (switches, covers, trim, etc.), mask off the areas at which a prying tool ( ( VAS 3409),

screwdriver) will be positioned, using commercially available adhesive tape.

Removing:

Deactivate anti-theft warning system. Refer to => [ Anti-Theft Alarm System, Activating and Deactivating ] See: Accessories and Optional
Equipment/Antitheft and Alarm Systems/Testing and Inspection/Anti-Theft Alarm System, Activating and Deactivating.

Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.

Pry off the trim using the (VAS 3409) or a screwdriver at the tabs - arrows -.
