Engine Control Module with Anti-Theft Immobilizer, Removing and Installing

If Engine Control Module (ECM) will be replaced, connect Vehicle Diagnosis, testing & info. system (VAS 5051B) and perform Guided Function
"Replace control module".

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Locking pliers

Removing

-

Switch off ignition.

-

Remove windshield wiper arms => Electrical Equipment

 92 Front windshield wiper system; removing and installing wiper arms.

-

Remove plenum chamber cover => Body Exterior 64 Removing and installing plenum chamber cover.

-

Remove bolts - 1 -.

-

Cover plenum chamber with a clean cloth so that it does not get scratched.

-

Raise engine control module with retaining mounting slightly.

-

Release engine control module in the - direction of the arrow  - and pull it out slightly.

-

Bend raised ends - 1 - of locking bracket outward.
