Perform the steps used for removal in reverse order.

Front Seat Backrest

‹› Removal and installation is described for the left-hand side of the  vehicle. Removal and installation for the right-hand side is performed in  the

same manner.

Removing

-

Remove belt anchor --> [ Belt Anchor ] See: Restraint Systems/Seat Belt Systems/Seat Belt/Service and Repair/Belt Anchor.

-

Remove 12-way seat --> [ Front Seat ]. See: Service and Repair/Front Seats/Front Seat

-

Mount the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136) on the engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095).

-

Secure 12-way seat on fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136).

-

Disconnect backrest cover retaining straps - 1 - and -  2 - from underside of seat base.

-

Depending on vehicle equipment, disconnect backrest wiring harnesses -  3 - beneath seat base.

-

Detach profiles - 4 - and - 5 - from  mountings.

Remove backrest hinge trim for 12-way seat - 2 - --> [ Front Seat Backrest Hinge trim ]. See: Service and Repair/Front Seats/Front Seat Backrest
