Fuel Injector: Testing and Inspection

Fuel Injectors, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Remote control (V.A.G 1348/3A) with adapter cable (V.A.G 1348/3-3)

‹› Injector quantity testing device (V.A.G 1602)

‹› Adapter cable (V.A.G 1348/3-2)

‹› Fuel pressure must be OK, checking --> [ Fuel Pressure Regulator and Residual Pressure, Checking ] See: Computers and Control Systems/Testing

and Inspection/Component Tests and General Diagnostics/Component Tests (SAE Code Charts)/Fuel Pressure Regulator and Residual Pressure,

Checking for leaks

CAUTION!
Fuel supply lines are under pressure! Wear protective goggles and  protective gloves to avoid damage and contact with skin. Before
removing from  hose connection wrap a cloth around the connection. Then release pressure  by carefully pulling hose off connection.

Remove fuel rail completely (fuel lines remain connected),

Remove cover over fuse holder.

Pull fuel pump relays - 1 - and - 2 - out  of their sockets.

Connect remote control (V.A.G 1348/3) with adapter cable (V.A.G 1348/3-3) to  connection - arrow - for fuel pump relay for right fuel delivery 
unit.
