Carefully insert camshaft adjustment valve into  housing and press it perpendicular to valve axle in by hand until it stops.

Tighten the bolts - arrows - to 3.8 Nm.

Clean sealing surface on timing chain cover as well as on cylinder  head.

If seals in cover are to be replaced, refer to --> [ Camshaft Adjuster Valve Seal, Installing ] See: Seals and Gaskets/Variable Valve Timing
Actuator Seal/Service and Repair. 

-

Make sure the seal - arrows - fits correctly inside  the cylinder head cover.

-

If necessary, remove sealant residue in places - A -. 

-

Apply a thin bead of sealant (D 176 501 A1) to clean sealing surfaces on cover.

-

Also apply some sealing compound (D 454 300 A2) to places marked on cover.
