Remove A/C unit.

Installing

Install in reverse order.

Replace coolant pipe O-rings.

Torque of coolant pipe screws to expansion valve is 10 ± 1  Nm.

‹› When installing, ensure condensation water hose is seated correctly  and not kinked.

Removing

-

Initiate control motor Basic Setting function with Diagnostic  Operation System (VAS 5051B). Refer to --> [ Climatronic A/C System with
Automatic Control, Checking and Adjusting ] See: Testing and Inspection/Climatronic A/C System with Automatic Control, Checking and
Adjusting.

When SF appears on the left of the Climatronic operating display,  switch ignition off.

‹› Control motors can only be re-installed in the service position after  removal.

Remove lower dash panel trim.

-

Removing and installing entry and start authorization control unit.

-

Removing relay carrier and onboard supply control unit.

-

Remove bolts - 3 -.

‹› To remove the retaining plate the bolts - 1 - are not  loosened or removed, they are used for guiding the retaining plate.

‹› Mark the connections for each motor to prevent confusing them.

-

Disconnect connectors.

-

Pull retaining plate and control motors out downwards.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order, when doing this  note the following:
