Supplemental Cornering Bulb is Inoperative or Requires Repeat Replacement

Technical Background

Excess voltage may result in a reduction in the service life of the supplemental cornering bulb(s).
To extend the service life of the supplemental cornering bulb(s), the voltage supplied to the bulb(s) is reduced.

TIP:  

Only the Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) cornering bulb(s) will be switched OFF and no longer operate with Daytime Running Lamps (DRL). All
other exterior bulb(s) remain unaffected.

Service

Procedure

-

Verify the supplemental corning bulb is inoperative and replace before programming.

-

Connect VAS 50XX Diagnostic Tool and Midtronics Battery tester/charger.

-

Select vehicle self diagnosis.

-

Select OBD standard.

-

Select 55 automatic vertical headlight aim control.

-

Press the forward arrow 2 times.

-

Select 07 coding.

-

Select the first option as shown below (figure 1).
